Dr. Rocha Méndez obtained his medical degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico in October 1995. He underwent postgraduate anesthesiology training at Hospital San José de Monterrey-ITESM. Later he did an internal medicine internship at St. Vincent's Medical Center - Yale School of Medicine in Connecticut. After that he completed an anesthesiology residency program at Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago where he also did a Critical Care Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Rocha Méndez is board certified in Anesthesiology by Consejo Mexicano de Anestesiología and in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is licensed to practice medicine in the State of Arizona. In addition, Dr. Rocha Méndez has over four years of experience in the field of Anesthesiology. He has worked as Staff Anesthesiologist for the Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System (SAVAHCS) since September 2003. At SAVAHCS, he administered anesthetic care to United States veterans undergoing various surgical procedures, and supervised and taught anesthesiology to medical students, residents, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, and fellows. He has also worked in private practice delivering Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine in Nuevo León, Mexico. Dr. Rocha Méndez was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and in 2006 became an Assistant Professor.
